Harry Charles Moore
Born in Syracuse , New York on November 13, 1936 and Died August 11, 2005 . He spent most of his growing up years in Lansing , Michigan and Albuquerque , New Mexico . Harry was a dedicated and well respected Lions Club Member for over 30 years. He was a Charter Member of the Phoenix Metro Lions Club and was twice named a “Melvin Jones Fellow”, The International Lions Club’s highest honor.
Harry devoted his whole life to those less fortunate than himself, his last effort, spearheading the rebuilding of a home that was seriously damaged by fire in south Phoenix where a single father and his four sons resided in the only livable space remaining, the garage.
Harry moved to Phoenix in 1952, fell in love, started a young family and then traveled around the country with Power Line Erectors as a Project Superintendent. In 1971 he returned to Phoenix and shortly thereafter took a position as a concrete salesman for Arizona Sand and Rock. Harry stayed with the company through four company “buy outs” and retired after 30 years of devoted service as “Sales Manager” of Vulcan Materials in 2002.
Harry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was equally a wonderful friend to everyone he knew. His giving spirit was his trademark and we all benefited from his love of friends and family.
